BRODNAX, GEORGE T.

The news of the death of Mr. Geo. T. Brodnax was a great shock and surprise to his friends in this county. He was born and reared in Mason in this county and was a pupil in the school of the late James Byars in Covington. Mr. Brodnax was taken ill about a week before his death and was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital for an operation from which, with other complications, he died. He went to Memphis some 25 or 30 years ago and during this time had built up one of the leading jewelry firms in the city. He was 47 years old and was prominent in the social and business affairs of the city. He is survived by his widow, one son, George T. Brodnax, Jr., and two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Jobe and Miss Virginia Brodnax, all of whom reside in Memphis.
