Mrs. Fannie Burgess died of malarial hematuria at the home of her father, Mr. J. J. Byars, in the Phelan vicinity, Thursday morning at 10 o’clock, after an illness of several weeks. Her burial occurred at old Charleston burial ground Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. Chesley Bowden conducting the funeral services. The deceased was about 30 years of age and was a member of the Baptist church. One son and three daughters survive her.
