Contest Mayor’s Election

The Fayette Falcon (Somerville, Tenn.), June 11, 1915

Covington – Squire W. N. Armstrong of Munford has filed a petition in the circuit court contesting the election of B. S. McCullough as mayor of Munford, Tenn. In the election, which was held on May 11, 1915, the face of the returns gave McCullough 28 votes and Armstrong 26 votes for the mayorship. It is reported that one ground for the contest is based upon the allegations that several ballots were thrown out by the election officers on account of the marking.
